The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) Process
Plan your project:
Roofing projects: refer to the Roofing Material Guidelines.
Fence and hedge projects: refer to the ACC Guidelines and the City of Renton Fencing Regulations.
Tree removal: refer to landscaping in the ACC Guidelines and the City of Renton Tree regulations.
Exterior painting: The Summerwind Suggested Paint pallet has been professionally updated . The new suggested colors provide color ideas, using Sherwin Williams paint. You are not required to use Sherwin Williams paint, and if you do use these suggested colors you will still need to paint visible samples and submit for approval through the ACC application process. You can find the Summerwind Suggested Paint Pallet here.
Submit your request/plans by filling out the application form and sending it to VIS. Please note the instructions on the form for providing samples, drawings, etc. depending on the type of project. Please review the ACC guidelines for further information.
For exterior painting, the Architectural Control Committee needs a 3′ x 3′ sample with primary and all secondary colors as applicable (trim, door, garage door, etc.).
Receive ACC approval; this usually takes 7 to 10 days. If the item is an urgent matter, such as a leaking roof, contact both the ACC and VIS Property Management to ensure a rapid response.
Start your work!
When your project is complete, please remember to return your Summerwind Approved Project sign. These signs are reused for other homeowner projects, saving the Association money. You can email the ACC for pickup.
